Lesley Smith is running to be your University of Colorado Regent At-Large because she has the courage and the experience to make a difference in our state. As a career CU scientist and educator, an eight-year local school board veteran, and the first woman aquanaut to live and work in the Aquarius underwater research lab, she is exceptionally qualified to take on the challenges facing Colorado’s flagship university system. She will:
– Fight for affordable, accessible pathways to success
– Ensure that CU offers students an excellent, relevant education that equips them with the critical thinking skills to be workforce-ready
– Work hard to attract strong funding for a strong CU system

CU is an economic driver of our state and the third largest employer in Colorado, contributing over $12 billion annually to the state’s economy and bringing in more than $1 billion per year in research funding.
The Board of Regents consists of nine members serving staggered six-year terms, one elected from each of Colorado’s seven congressional districts and two from the state at-large.
