Who We Are
The Greeley Indivisible Health Care committee is a group of dedicated individuals committed to health policy advocacy. We focus on four primary activities:
- Track and understand health care issues and policy at the local, state and national levels
- notify GI membership of opportunities for healthcare advocacy activities and calls to action
- sponsor nonpartisan educational events and materials to the larger Greeley and Weld County community
- identify opportunities to partner with other organizations to advocate for sound health care policy
In 2017, we have: Coordinated several calls to action, including protests at our local legislative offices; hosted a community meeting with Representative Ken Buck; created an educational session for consumers and citizen advocates on health care costs and reform efforts that is available for presentation to community groups upon request; sponsored a non-partisan community forum on health care reform with a panel of experts in health law, health policy and health care delivery.
Our next project is to launch Living Room Conversations, an effort to conduct small, informal multi-partisan conversations within the community in order to improve understanding, appreciation and communication among our friends and neighbors on challenging healthcare issues.
